Portsea Back Beach House

Portsea Back Beach House is a lovingly renovated and extended family holiday escape within the coastal Portsea Back Beach. Retaining much of the original holiday home, the existing spaces were sensitively restored with a cool clean palette, paired with warm tonnes of light soft timbers. This sentiment seamlessly echoes through to the new wing which extends from the original dining room to create a large room housing the new kitchen and living room. This area features large openable glazed sliding doors spilling out to the large timber deck which overlooks the tennis court and Portsea golf course beyond. This view which is carefully concealed upon approach to the home and is only revealed once inside. The master retreat is housed within what was once the carport area, nestled amongst the teared coastal vegetation that surrounds the home providing sanctuary within the landscape. Externally the material palette is sympathetic to the original scheme by allowing the original brickwork to remain proud, abutting politely against the new warm toned block-work walls which sit quietly within the coastal landscape.
